10 Words of Encouragement

  1. You will never get ahead of others as long as you're trying to get even with them.
  2. Remember, lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have 24 hours days.
  3. Humble people don't think less of themselves; they just think of themselves less.
  4. Life is much like Christmas. You're more apt to get what you expect than what you want.
  5. Some people find fault as if there were a reward for it. Others see good in every difficulty.
  6. The real reward for a thing well done is to have done it.
  7. If people aren't responsible in their personal life, there is a good chance they are also irresponsible at work.
  8. Your past is important, but it is not important enough to control your future.
  9. Do not end a meeting until a who and when to each problem have been assigned to a specific individual with an appropriate solution. A decision without a deadline is a meaningless discussion.
  10. Bring ideas in and entertain them royally, for one of them may be a king.

Ten Top Trends For Your Home!

  1. Foyers need D-R-A-M-A! (Entry should let your visitors see a little in to your soul or at least reveal some of your personal style.)
  2. Enjoy outdoor life. (The southern climate is perfect for outdoor rooms! Try and divide up your space into three areas- one for dining flanked by two conversation areas.)
  3. Wallpaper isn't just for walls. (Try wallpapering the insides of bookscases to add interest and cover imperfections...this can work especially well in the master sitting room!)
  4. Collections should make a statement. (There should be a certain "hipness", a little luxe that's unique.)
  5. Scaling down high style. (For instance: Your embroidered tape on the edge of the linen drapes comes from Samuel and Sons, but you can achieve a similar look with grosgrain or dressmaker ribbon from a craft store.)
  6. Bathroom makeover on a budget. (Try buying less expensive drapes and countertops and do the painting yourself!)
  7. Make big impact with wallpaper. (LARGE prints in wallpaper are a hot trend, especially those papers with shimmer or flocking! You can even try covering books with the same wallpaper for a high-end look!)
  8. Kitchens need a break from stainless and granite. (Rubbed Bronze finish is "the new stainless" according to Scotty Rawley from RZ Design Group in Palm Beach. Instead of granite, try using French-blue limestone from Haifa. Too expensive for you? Here's a budget idea: Have walls you want to hide? Drape them with sheers...designers are even using this idea to cover brick walls in the breakfast area!)
  9. New heights for the bedroom. (Who says you can't use a chandelier in the bedroom? Add instant drama, light and elegance to a room by adding an eclectic chandelier...it will be an instant focal point!)
  10. Enhance your windows and the spaciousness of your room. (Raise your window treatments and/or shower curtains! Simply raise your bar and add a valance to your window...this will conceal the fact that you've raised it and give your room a much larger feel!)
